Custom OrthoticsSports Injury Treatment

What to Expect

Getting a pair of orthotics is an exciting endeavor.  Orthotics can help reduce or eliminate acute and chronic foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back disorders.  Many athletes benefit from using them for improved performance and injury prevention.

The orthotics process requires two parts:

Part A -  Casting

Orthotic casting appointments take about 30 minutes. Please bring a sample of a pair of shoes that you will likely use your orthotics with.

Custom orthotics is a specialized service taking time and expertise.  You will be asked a series of questions regarding your history and your current symptoms, complaints and concerns.  Questions can be answered at any time during the procedure.  After your history is taken your feet are examined and then casted in a non-weight bearing neutral posture.  Once your casts are dry and removed from your feet we discuss the options you have for your custom orthotics.  At this point we are all finished with Part A.

Part B - Fitting

Once your orthotics are returned from the Lab (usually 10 working days), our office will call you to schedule an appointment to come in to have your new orthotics fitted to your shoes.  Please bring the pair of shoes you intend to wear the orthotics in.

This part usually takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, this service is not covered by insurance and will be the patient's responsibility. Payment will need to be made at time of service.
