Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the neuro-musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors focus on correcting spinal misalignments (subluxations) to improve nervous system function and reduce pain. This can include the following techniques:
- Diversified Technique
- Activator Instrument Assist
Relies heavily on motion palpation (feeling the spine for joints that aren't moving correctly), checking your range of motion, and standard orthopedic/neurological tests. Primarily focused on restoring normal motion to spinal joints. The underlying idea is that improved movement leads to reduced pain and better overall function.
This is a handheld, spring-loaded device designed to deliver a quick, controlled, and gentle impulse to specific areas of the spine or joints. Unlike traditional manual adjustments, which use the chiropractor’s hands to apply force, the Activator provides a targeted adjustment with minimal pressure.
Chiropractors also adjust extremities of the upper and lower body such as shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and feet.
What is Wellness Chiropractic?
More often than not, when we tell someone that we are a chiropractic office, they immediately associate our vocation with neck and/or back pain. What many do not realize, however, is that chiropractic is a health care modality that provides significantly more than just a solution for pain.
Chiropractic is a lifestyle that involves all aspects of wellness, including exercise, nutrition, personal development, and stress relief. We have been fortunate to work with people from all walks of life (including newborns, children, elderly, and adolescents) and the outcome has been miraculous.
Although most people see a chiropractor for the first time when they are injured, the goal is preventing injury and chronic pain by removing blockages to nerve function. Usually a series of chiropractic adjustments to correct an acute problem will be enough to allow the body to heal itself. After that, it is recommended to get wellness care periodically depending on your individual needs.
Our method of adjusting is manual, diversified technique, and activator if desired.
